Tay Puay Chuan

Senator Puay Chuan Tay founded Tay Puay Chuan & Co. in Muar, Johor Darul Takzim, which is Mr. Tay's own legal practice in 2003. Mr. Tay was attached to Fadzilah, Ong Chee Seong & Associates from 1998 to 2003. Mr. Tay started his career with the Polis DiRaja Malaysia, Bukit Aman in 1987 and later left the police force as an Inspector in 1992. He joined Fajar Sawmill Sdn Bhd in 1992 as a Factory Manager and later left to join Syarikat Teong Sheng Sdn Bhd in 1994 and served as its Factory Manager until 1997. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Sern Kou Resources Bhd since December 18, 2003. Mr. Tay has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Guan Chong Bhd. since January 8, 2005. He was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in 1998. In 1997, Mr. Tay graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from University of London.
